Psychotherapy for the Childbearing Years

Dr. Berenguer provides specialized psychotherapy services for issues that may arise during the childbearing years. Examples of this include:

  • Depression and anxiety during pregnancy and/or postpartum period
  • Pregnancy and Infant loss
  • Infertility
  • Marital difficulty within the early stages of parenthood

One of Dr. Berenguer’s top priorities is creating a supportive and accepting environment for each individual as they face their own unique challenges surrounding parenthood. She uses a blend of techniques that is tailored specifically for that individual. Her techniques are based in various evidence-based therapy approaches, such as Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MCBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), both Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapies (CBT, DBT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). She feels that while starting a family can be a joyful and fulfilling experience, no one should have to face the challenges that it can also bring alone. She strives to provide a service that ultimately leads to restoration, growth, resilience and empowerment.
